Introducing the guide to the Chanel 2.55 Reissue Bags from the Pre-fall 2012 collection. These purses should already be available in stores, and ready to be replaced by Fall/Winter 2012 merchandise.  Sizing is similar to the Timeless classic flap (the flaps with the CC closure) except the sizes correspond to numbers, as follows: 224/Mini, 225/Small, 226/medium and 227/Jumbo.  Bags are available in ruthenthium hardware in colors such as silver and gold.  The exterior is typically found in a grained calfskin.

Courteney Cox star of the hit show 'Cougar Town' was spotted in LA carrying the Chanel Shiva Flap bag in the Maxi size. She spent the day shopping in LA and dining at Mr. Chow for dinner in Beverly Hills. She paired the large flap with a casual cashmere grey sweater, knee high boots and jeans. The Shiva flap has a unique 'glazed' leather exterior, double chain flaps and large CC turnlock closure. This style first came out in the Fall 2012 collection and in available in a number of different sizes.

Sofia Vergara, star of the Emmy nominated show Modern Family, was spotted with the new Chanel Shiva Tote Bag from the Pre-fall 2012 Bombay Collection while she vacationed in Paris with her rumoured fiance Nick Loeb. She's currently nominated for three Emmy awards this year. She's carrying the tote version of the Shiva bag which is convertible into a shoulder bag using the added chain strap. You can see by her frame, that the tote bag is not that large, she's 5'7".

Here is a summary of the bags to expect for Chanel Fall 2012. The bags include a few new styles namely the "Perfect Edge" and the "Lady Pearly" bags. It seems the brand is focusing on making a lot heavier single chain versus the traditional chain leather that Chanel is  typically known for. Also they usually feature two separate chains, one with leather and one without (typically thicker). The weight of these bags are probably more than you're used to since there are now two large chains; however the look is definitely more opulent with the second single chain draped over the bag.

As the Euro and US currencies are almost at par, it has now become much more lucrative to travel to Europe to buy a luxury bag. Below is a price comparison between purchasing a designer bag in a Euro country versus the US (New York for example). Since the cost savings are much larger people should take advantage while you still can. The savings for a Chanel Jumbo is almost 28% percent off, see comparison below.

If you are a non-European resident, you are entitled to a VAT refund. The percentage depends on the country but we have used 12% as the lowest refund, although expect to receive about 13% (more information). For the US prices we used the New York State sales tax at 8.875% as a basis for comparison.
As per August 12, 2019 the current rate is €1.00 = $1.12. This is used on all EU prices to compare to US below.
