Introducing the bags of the Louis Vuitton Spring 2020 Runway bag collection, Nicholas Ghesquire presented a number of vintage throwback styles. He drew on inspiration of Paris Bell Epoque Era as well as the 70s/80s with his references to cassette tapes and VHS in his accessories. The Egg is back again with a vengeance this season appearing as an extremely oversized purse reminiscent of a 70s bowling bag featuring a wave pattern. A few favorites did emerge from the runway, namely velvety suede pieces featuring the Dauphine LV logo and new vanity cases. The Dauphine shoulder bag looks like it will also be made in different Epi materials.
In a recent press preview a new Apple Airpods case was presented, that is wrapped with a chained necklace for ease of access around your neck. This season's bags didn't appear to have much consistency, bags ranged from very vintage styles (ie. Doctor bags / Ruched clutches) to kitschy with cassette tapes and Monogram shoppers with images of VHS tapes.
